Lantern-making and Sea-level Rise Procession at Devonport

Working with local lantern making legend and master carver, Natanahira Te Pona, participants will learn how to create Blue lanterns, as part of the Sea Level Rise Procession that will take place along Devonport beach in the evening.

Exhibition was opened with an impassioned speech by Bianca Ranson, Protect Pūtiki, about damage to marine ecology caused through the building of an enormous marina on a fragile ecological site at Kennedy Bay, Waiheke Island.
